Sugar Loom Bakery specializes in authentic Filipino desserts made from family recipes and serves customers through pop-ups, catering, and special events throughout San Diego County. We are looking for dependable, hardworking team members who enjoy providing excellent customer service and being part of a growing small business.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, package, and label desserts

  • Assist with baking and food preparation

  • Set up and break down pop-up events

  • Provide friendly and professional customer service

  • Operate a point-of-sale system (Square)

  • Maintain cleanliness and food safety standards

  • Load, unload, and transport supplies and equipment

  • Assist with inventory, stocking, and other duties as needed

Qualifications

Required

  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn

  • Reliable and punctual

  • Reliable transportation

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment

  • Able to stand for extended periods

  • Able to safely lift up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation

  • Able to work independently and as part of a team

  • Must obtain a valid California Food Handler Card within 30 days of hire (training may be completed after employment begins).

Preferred

  • Customer service experience

  • Food service, bakery, café, or retail experience

  • Cash handling or point-of-sale experience

Required Availability

Applicants must be available for the following shifts:

  • Wednesdays: 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM (varies)

  • Thursdays: 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM

  • Friday: 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM (varies)

  • Minimum one Sunday per month: 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM

Additional hours may become available as the business grows. Hours subject to change depending on market/business needs.
